2-Day Basic Carpentry Skills – Genderqueer/Non-binary Specific

This session of our 2-Day Basic Carpentry Skills course is designed to create a welcoming environment specifically for gender queer, non-binary, trans, and other gender non-conforming folx. We ask that you only sign up for this course if you identify with one of these groups.
2-day Basic Carpentry Skills 101 workshops introduce students to basic carpentry concepts of layout, cutting, and fastening, while building a pair of sawhorses that students will take home after the class. The skills learned in this class form a foundation for both rough carpentry and more detailed finish work.
After this class, students will be able to safely use a range of hand and power tools and will understand the fundamentals of construction. This class can be taken as a stand-alone class, or as a prerequisite for any of the other longer project-based classes.
