SUMMARY:Skoolie Swarm 2021
DESCRIPTION:Join the 4th Annual Skoolie Swarm™ for a chance to come and relax as a community. This is not a show. Importantly\, you do not have to have a bus to attend. In 2020 about 100 skoolies\, vans\, box trucks\, tents\, and car campers attend. Not to mention the day-trippers.\n\n\n \n\n\n“Practice your off-grid skills. There are no electric hookups but there is a water spigot in the campground to get some water but please don’t everyone rely on filling up there. Generators are allowed but the louder ones will be asked to face them toward the tree line.\n\nThis venue has bathrooms with hot showers\, a large mess hall that includes a kitchen available for all to use and keep clean. There is 1 large fire ring for community fires overlooking the lake. Firewood will be provided for the community fire ring.\n\nJust like Swarm™2020 we will have epic potluck dinners\, community breakfasts\, kickball games\, a sock hop\, movie nights and more.\n\nYou can bring any kayak\, canoe\, paddleboard or low powered water vessel. Fishing is allowed. The cost will be $15 per night per home.\n\nThe camp is right on a rails to trails bike path so bring your bikes\, scooters or skates.”\n\n\nRegistration will be by email again this year.\n\nEmail skoolieswarm@gmail.com the following information:\n\nPut 2021 as your subject line\nYour name\nSize of the rig you are bringing\nDates you will be with us\n# of kids you are bringing\n\n\nAll dogs must be on a 6′ leash at all times and cleaned up after by their owners according to park rules. There is wildlife at this park.

SUMMARY:Online Forum Discussion: Portland Alternative Shelter & Housing
DESCRIPTION:How can Portland quickly provide safe\, private shelter or housing to all unsheltered residents?\nPlease join PDX Shelter Forum to explore and suggest bold\, varied\, and practical ideas for new shelter options in Portland at an open online community forum. \n“In early February\, the city/county Joint Office of Homeless Services issued an official RFI (Request for Information) regarding potential Safe Park sites and on February 17 an RFPQ (Request For Programmatic Qualifications) on alternative shelter proposals. Responses are due Tuesday\, March 9th\, by 4 pm. \nWhile the core question noted above has been a key focal question for PDX Shelter Forum / Shelter Now since the start\, this Forum asks the question specifically to engage with those recent calls for proposals issued by the City of Portland / Multnomah County\, and also current debates about the future of Hazelnut Grove village in N. Portland.” \n\n\n\n \n\nConfirmed guest speakers/panelists:\n\n\nGeneral Jeff\, LA Skid Row Neighborhood Council\n\n\nDr. Sharon Meieran\, Multnomah County Commission for District 1.\n\n\nVictory LaFara\, MSW. (they\, them\, theirs) – C3PO Program Coordinator & Dignity Village Program Specialist\, JOIN.\n\n\n\n\nRSVP to attend live or receive a recording and notes from the event. \nThe event is a suggested donation – you are welcome even if you can’t donate financially\, but are also welcome to donate/sponsor (and be recognized for it at the event\, if you’d like) to help us be able to continue these events.
