GoTiny! Home Design & Planning Workshop

October 25, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - October 27, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

$199 – $275

GET READY TO GO TINY!
This weekend workshop covers what you need to assess where you are, determine where you’re headed, and decide exactly what you need to “Go Tiny!”

WHAT’S COVERED:
GoTiny workshops include in-depth details, hands-on how-to knowledge, and experience needed to define your needs, design your home, choose fixed foundation or mobile platform, select materials, budget expenses, request vendor proposals, and prepare for compliance inspections to help “future proof” your Tiny Home for use as a rental property, second home, accessory structure, or full-time residence.

COST AND ACCOMMODATIONS:
Cost covers fees for the weekend workshop including meals. On-site tent and cabin camping is available on-site at Chantilly Farm, with many other accommodations nearby in the charming town of Floyd, Virginia.

WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS:
This intensive weekend session is led by Thom and Midge Stanton, co-founders of GoTiny. Since 2013, Thom and Midge have provided conceptual design services for small structures that frequently include cabins, cottages, tiny homes, and accessory dwelling units.

The couple downsized from a 2,000 square foot home and have lived as “full-timers” for the last three years. Among many other tiny credits, Thom is currently President of the Tiny Home Industry Association, Virginia’s State Chapter Leader for the American Tiny House Association, and is leading the Uniform Compliance Initiative to standardize design, inspection, and construction of Tiny Homes as residential structures, recreational living spaces, and emergency housing solutions.

The Stantons love to share their passion for tiny homes and offer this course to help future tiny homeowners make more objectively informed decisions on ways to simplify, streamline, and intensify their interests in tiny home design, planning, and construction.
